Here are the top three stories in Marietta today:
- The names of the two Cobb County Sheriff's Office deputies that were killed on Thursday night have been released. Deputies Jonathan Randall Koleski, 42, and Marshall Samuel Ervin Junior, 38, were killed by two individuals while serving arrest warrants. Christopher Cook, 32, and Christopher Golden, 30, were arrested after the shooting. (11Alive.com WXIA)
- Cobb County's new Elections Headquarters will consolidate elections activities, according to the director of Cobb County elections. The previous system required materials to be transported to various offices on election night, such as equipment transported to a warehouse, memory cards to the West Park office, and ballots to another location. The new headquarters on Roswell Street will place all operations under one roof. (Cobb County Courier)
- The Georgia State Patrol and the Cobb County Police Department report two traffic fatalities that occurred in Cobb County during Labor Day weekend. There were 15 traffic fatalities in Georgia during the same period. Over 7,300 citations and 7,700 warnings were issued during the weekend as well. (Cobb County Courier)
