Dump Truck Crash Seriously Injures Marietta Man

The man's SUV crossed the double-yellow line, but the dump truck driver had marijuana on him, police say.

MARIETTA, GA — A Marietta man is in the hospital with serious injuries after his SUV swerved and ran head-on into a dump truck Thursday morning.

Cobb County Police say Eddie Miller, 59, was driving his 2005 Chrysler Pacifica north on Atlanta Road north of West Atlanta Street at about 11:34 a.m. Thursday. A 1999 Mack RD600 dump truck driven by Tony Howard, 54, of Smyrna, was headed south.

Miller's Chrysler crossed a double-yellow line and struck the front of the dump truck, police say. It was then hit by a Nissan Sentra driven by Princess Thompson, 34, of Atlanta, who had been driving behind the dump truck.
