Atlanta Lyric Theatre will open their 32nd season with “Thoroughly Modern Millie,” winner of the 2002 Tony Award for Best Musical. Based on the 1967 Oscar-winning film, “Thoroughly Modern Millie” is the story of a Midwestern girl who arrives in New York during the height of the Jazz Age and is determined to take the town by storm. Broadway and Lyric veteran Claci Miller stars as Millie Dillmount, and Maxim Gukhman plays Jimmy Smith, the care free young man who pines for Millie’s affection. Directed by Artistic Director Brandt Blocker, the show opens Sept. 16 and runs through Oct. 2.
