Four Lockheed Martin Employees Diagnosed With Legionnaires
Company officials say there's no confirmation the workers contracted the disease at the Marietta plant.

MARIETTA, GA — Four Lockheed Martin employees have been confirmed by the company to have contracted Legionnaires’ disease.
"There is no confirmation the employees contracted the disease at their workplace in Marietta," according to a statement from the company. "In all cases the employees have recovered from their illness. However, as a precautionary measure, we have increased testing of our water to ensure it is safe and implemented the appropriate protocols in our facilities in accordance with public health-recommended guidelines."

- Superheated our hot water
- Ensured chlorine is at the appropriate levels in the water system
- Cleaned or replaced aerators on sinks as appropriate
- Regular flushing of the water system
"We continue to work closely with the Georgia Public Health Service and the Cobb-Douglas County Health Dept. to monitor our facilities, and ensure a safe and healthy environment for our employees," the company said.
