Free Comic Book Day 2016: Cobb County Stores Participating

The annual celebration of comic books is set for Saturday, May 7.

COBB COUNTY, GA — Cobb County comic book fans or those who hope to become so don’t have to wait too much longer to enjoy a title without cost. Free Comic Book Day 2016 is set to take place this Saturday.

The May 7 event is the 15th of its kind. On that day, comic book shops and specialty stores across North America and throughout Cobb County plan to give away free comic book titles while supplies last. The one-day giveaway is meant to introduce newcomers to comic books to the art form.

While every retailer signed up for the event may have its own rules about participation, those who visit a shop on the list will receive “at least one free comic” if they “enter a participating shop location,” the event’s website states. Titles may vary by location.

Here are the stores in the Cobb County area that are taking part in this year’s observance by handing out free comics:

  • 2nd & Charles, 4815 Ernest W. Barrett Parkway, Kennesaw, GA (770) 422-3172
  • Movie Stop Store, 1166 Ernest W. Barrett Parkway, Marietta, GA (806) 677-1468
