GA Sheriff Resigns, Pleads Guilty To Groping Judge Hatchett: Report
The Bleckley County sheriff was accused of grabbing Judge Glenda Hatchett's chest at a hotel bar in January 2022.
MARIETTA, GA — Bleckley County Sheriff Kris Coody immediately resigned from his post after pleading guilty to groping Judge Glenda Hatchett, Channel 2 Action News reported Monday.
Coody pleaded guilty to sexual battery in connection with the January 2022 incident, during which Coody was accused of grabbing Hatchett's chest at a hotel bar, the T.V. outlet reported.
The sheriff was sentenced to 12 months probation, 40 hours of community service and a $500 fine. He also has to complete an alcohol and drug course, Channel 2 reported.
