  1. The Cobb County Public Library has unveiled a "Read Around The World" interactive map. The new feature is meant to introduce the county's readers to books that have settings in nearly every continent. Library staffer Raymond Goslow created the interactive map.   2. The Great Georgia Pollinator Census of 2022 will be occurring on Aug. 20. The census is meant to identify trends in the pollinator population. The event will be held at Cobb Water's Wildlife & Rain Garden at the Water Quality Lab on South Cobb Drive in Marietta. The event is between 10:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. (Cobb County Courier)
  3. A Cobb County man has been arrested for assaulting a woman in a hotel room. According to the victim, he slammed her face into a refrigerator, struck her face, and stomped on her face while she was on the ground. Caleb Becker has been charged with aggravated assault with the intent to murder, aggravated assault strangulation and aggravated assault disfigure. He is being held at the Cobb County Detention Center. (WSBTV)
