Kennesaw Man Given 3 Life Sentences For Sex Assaults On Children
The crimes happened at Aristides Rios Rodriguez's home in 2015, when the victims, who are sisters, were just 6 and 8 years old.

MARIETTA, GA -- A Kennesaw man has been sentenced to three life sentences after being convicted of sexually assaulting two young girls. Aristides Rios Rodriguez, 57, was convicted earlier this month of rape, aggravated sodomy, child molestation and other charges. The assaults occurred at Rodriguez’s home on Black Gum Drive over several months in 2015, when the victims, who are sisters, were just six and eight years old.
Police were notified after the girls’ mother entered a bedroom at the house and found Rodriguez in the room with the six-year-old girl, who was pulling up her underpants. Medical exams found male DNA on both girls.
“As is the case with most sexual assaults, these girls did not disclose the abuse until years after it had started,” said Assistant District Attorney Drew Healy, who prosecuted the case with ADA Susan Treadaway. “The jury was able to look at the evidence in light of everything we know about the disclosure process. Their verdict and this sentence honor the bravery of these victims coming forward to hold this defendant accountable.”

On Friday, Cobb Superior Court Chief Judge C. LaTain Kell sentenced Rodriguez to three consecutive life sentences. Marietta attorney Reid Thompson represented the defendant, who has remained in custody since his arrest in September 2015.
Rodriguez's trial began earlier this month.
