Lockdown At Sprayberry High Prompted By Hoax 911 Call: Police
Officers responded to Sprayberry High School after receiving a report of a weapon on campus, which school officials say was false.
MARIETTA, GA — Sprayberry High School entered a Code Red lockdown Thursday after police received a report of a weapon on campus, Cobb County Schools said.
The incident happened early in the day, and authorities immediately responded after being notified, school officials said.
Sprayberry, with about 1,700 students on its Sandy Plains Road campus, went on lockdown during the police investigation, school officials said. They added officers did not find a weapon, and all students and staff members were safe.

Police are now investigating the report as a hoax 911 call, school officials said.
"We are grateful for the swift response and continued support of our law enforcement partners," they said in a statement.
