Lockheed Martin Wins Massive Contract With Pentagon
The deal for the massive C-130J Super Hercules could end up as a $10 billion deal for the Pentagon's largest weapon supplier.

MARIETTA, GA — Lockheed Martin, the largest weapons supplier to the Pentagon, has been awarded a contract for its C-130J Super Hercules aircraft that could wind up being a $10 billion deal.
Business Insider is reporting that the deal is worth up to $10,020,000,000 for all future delivery orders.
According to the company, the C-130J is the most flexible airlifter in the world and has already been selected by 16 nations. "This venerable workhorse meets the growing worldwide need for airlift and continues to evolve to meet new operational requirements," Lockheed Martin's website said. "The C-130J incorporates state-of-the-art technology, which reduces manpower requirements, lowers operating and support costs, and provides life-cycle cost savings over earlier C-130 models.

"Compared to older C-130s, the J-model climbs faster and higher, flies farther at a higher cruise speed, and takes off and lands in a shorter distance. The C-130J also meets the need to support a wide range of missions with the same platform."
Work will be carried out in Marietta and is slated to be completed by August of2026.
