The man's injuries were not life threatening, the GBI said.

MABLETON, GA — A Mableton man accused of pointing a long gun at several people is in jail after being shot by officers Sunday, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigations.

The Cobb County Police Department was responding around 7:45 p.m. to reports of a man spending several hours walking around a Mableton neighborhood with a long gun. The GBI said the man had been pointing his gun at several people in that period.

When officers told the man to put down his gun, the GBI said he refused. The GBI added "at some point during the incident," officers shot the man.
