Man Groped Woman At Marietta School Soccer Game: Police

A group of teens and adults were playing behind the Marietta school without school officials' permission during spring break.

MARIETTA, GA — A Cobb County man has been arrested on charges that he groped a woman during an unauthorized soccer game on school property in Marietta.

David Lee Pilgram, of Powder Springs, was arrested and booked at Cobb County Jail on Friday on a charge of sexual battery, according to jail records. The incident happened that morning on a field behind Marietta Sixth Grade Academy.

In a letter to the school community, Marietta schools Superintendent Grant Rivera said a group of adults and teenagers had "without our knowledge or permission, entered the property to play soccer."

During the match, Rivera said, "(a)llegedly, a man inappropriately touched one of the individuals on the field and was later charged and arrested."

Marietta students were on spring break on Friday.

"I share this information because you deserve to know of a recent arrest that was brought to our attention," Rivera wrote. "Please know we are in ongoing conversations with the Marietta Police Department about how we can better secure and monitor all school campuses after hours and during school holidays."

According to a Marietta Police report, Pilgram put his arm around a woman's shoulders and said "good game." He then groped under her shirt with his other hand, according to the report.
