Man Killed In Cumberland Lodge Shooting ID'd

MARIETTA, GA — The man who died after being shot Wednesday morning at Cumberland Lodge on South Cobb Drive has been identified as Ricky Haney, 31, Cobb County Police said.

The person accused of shooting Haney has been identified as Clarence Mitchell, 28.

Both Haney and Mitchell are from Marietta.

The shooting happened around 4:45 a.m., and police said the shooting was the result of a dispute between the two that had occurred the previous day.

Police said Haney died from a single round shot to the abdomen. He died while at the hospital.

Mitchell is charged on suspicion of felony murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, police said.
