Man Who Set Pit Bull On Fire To Be Sentenced Thursday
Royalti suffered burns to her face, abdomen, legs and tail. Calib Lanier faces up to 15 years in prison.

MARIETTA, GA — A man who trapped a pit bull in a doghouse and then set it on fire is set to be sentenced on Thursday.
Calib Dansel Lanier was convicted last month on two counts of aggravated cruelty to animals and one count of criminal damage to property in the second degree.
In May 2015, Lanier trapped a pit bull in a doghouse and then set the doghouse on fire. The pit bull, “Royalti” suffered severe burns to her face, abdomen, legs and tail before she managed to escape the doghouse.

Lanier faces a maximum of 15 years in prison.
Royalti has been adopted by Dr. Regan Burford, one of the veterinarians caring for her.
