Manhunt Underway For Murder Suspect In Cobb
Police are searching for the suspect accused of pointing a gun at an officer near a busy Cobb County road.

COBB COUNTY, GA — Police are searching for a murder suspect accused of pointing a gun at an officer Tuesday afternoon in the area of Leland and Windy Hill roads, Cobb County officials said.
Officers responded to the area around 1 p.m. to locate the suspect, who police say is the subject of an outstanding murder warrant.

The armed suspect pointed a gun at an officer, who then fired his service weapon, police said. The suspect, who was not identified, then ran from the scene, police said.
No officers were injured during the incident, Cobb County Police said.

There is a "significant law enforcement" presence in the area. Photos released by CCPD show deputies with the Cobb County Sheriff's Office at the scene.
"Avoid the area and seek alternate routes. Anyone who observes suspicious persons or activity in the area of Leland Road and Windy Hill Road, please call Cobb County 911," police said.
