Marietta Diner: A Local Favorite

is obviously a favorite for hundreds, maybe thousands, of residents in the area. No matter what time of day I drive by the establishment it always seems to be packed.

The restaurant is a delight. It brings together the welcoming and homey vibe of a good old-fashioned diner and the tastiness of fine dining.

Service: The portions are huge, the prices are great, and the service is friendly and fast. It took under five minutes for my food to come after I ordered; though the wait to sit down was a bit long.

Food: The menu is huge with a little something for everyone. Breakfast is served 24 hours. Burgers, sandwiches, wraps, soups, salads, seafood, ribs, kabobs, chicken, roast and more make for a thick menu that meets every craving.

The BBQ Chicken Wrap is $8.95 and comes with french fries, cole slaw and a pickle. The grilled chicken is tender and spicy. The thin chicken strips are spaced out to provide flavor in every bite. Tomato and lettuce fill out the large wrap, which was a little on the soggy side.

Desserts: The dessert menu can be described in one word—impressive. Cheesecake, mousse, pies, cookies, eclairs, muffins, pudding, jello, danishes, ice cream and more: There is a large variety to choose from.

The Snickers Cheesecake is a very appetizing, though very sweet, dessert. The cheesecake bottom is topped with a light and subtly chocolate mousse. Ground Snickers and nut chunks are sprinkled over the mousse, providing a pleasant crunch. Chocolate and carmel are drizzled on top and hardened.

Bottom Line: Marietta Diner is nothing fancy; however, it is a local favorite. The restaurant has a variety of great diner food served in big portions at reasonable prices.
