Marietta Girl Dies After Falling Out Of Moving SUV

A Marietta teen in a coma for nearly 3 weeks has died from injuries she suffered out of falling from a moving SUV, the family says.

MARIETTA, GA — Three weeks after a Marietta teen fell out of a moving SUV, suffering skull and spine fractures that left her in a coma, the girl has died, her family says. driven by a friend accused of DUI has died, her family said. On July 5 Alyssa Prindle was riding in an SUV driven by a friend, Abigail Cook, 17, on Johnson Ferry Road near Sewell Mill Road, Marietta police said. Prindle was hanging out the left rear window “yelling and screaming” when she fell onto the pavement.

She was in a medically induced coma until her death on Wednesday, her family announced on GoFundMe page.

"Yesterday, Alyssa lost her fight. Her body just couldn't keep going," a representative of the Prindle family posted. "There were too many injuries, and the doctors just couldn't do anything else for her.

"We are all extremely sad, and already miss her greatly. But, we know that she is no longer broken. She is standing fully restored in Heaven, with Jesus, whom she received as her Savior at a youth camp four years ago. We have a hope that goes beyond the grave, and are looking forward to seeing her again one day."

Friends asked for prayers for her parents, Todd and Julie, and her 15-year-old brothes, Kyler and Bailey.

The GoFundMe site has raised nearly $13,000 to help the family with medical and related expenses.

Prindle was a recent graduate of Pope High School and had planned to attend Georgia Southern University.

Cook was arrested on suspicion of DUI. She faces a felony charge of seriously injuring someone using a vehicle and misdemeanor counts of driving under the influence, having a fake ID and giving alcohol to minors, WSB reports.
