Marietta Man, 64, Seriously Injured Hitting Fire Hydrant
Another car pulled in front of him Thursday evening, forcing him off of the road, according to Cobb County Police.

MARIETTA, GA — A 64-year-old Marietta man was seriously injured Thursday evening after he was run off of the road and hit a fire hydrant.
Russell W. Lacosta was taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital, where he was suffering from serious, but not life-threatening, injuries, according to the Cobb County Police Department. The crash happened at about 7:55 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Austell Road and Cunningham Road in Marietta.
According to police, Lacosta was driving his red, 2017 Chevy Impala south on Austell Road when an older-model white car turned left from Austell Road northbound onto Cunningham Road westbound. It crossed into Lacosta's path and he swerved right to avoid a collision, police said.
