Marietta Man Dies After Being Hit By Car
The man was walking near Powder Springs Road and Pamela Circle and died after being hit by a car.
MARIETTA, GA — A 77-year-old Marietta man died Sunday night after police say he left his car in the roadway for unknown reasons and was hit by another car while walking at Powder Springs Road and Pamela Circle.
Cobb County Police said Monday officers responded around 9:15 p.m. to Powder Springs and Pamela, where they say Abraham Paz-Chavez died at the scene.
Police said Paz-Chavez was traveling south on Powder Springs in a green 2000 Nissan Frontier, when for unknown reasons, he stopped the car in the southbound lanes of Powder Springs north of Pamela.

Paz-Chavez got out of his car, left it in the southbound lanes and began walking south near the western edge of the roadway, police said.
A few moments later, a grey 2019 Nissan Sentra being driven by a 22-year-old Dallas man south on Powder Springs hit Paz-Chavez, police said.

Paz-Chavez sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The driver of the Sentra was not injured in the accident.
Cobb County Police's Selective Traffic Enforcement Program is investigating the case.
