Marietta Man Faces Drugs, Gun And Gang Charges

A Marietta man was arrested and charged with connection to leading a Cobb County gang, according to officials.

MARIETTA, GA — The FBI and local officials arrested and charged a Marietta man Monday with connection to a Cobb County gang, reports the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. According to authorities, Tony L. Menefee, whose alias is “Brim Major” is accused of leading the street gang “Dem Marietta Boys” or the “Brim Bloods.”

He faces federal charges. Menefee was arrested around 6 a.m. Monday at the Sedgefield Apartments, Marietta police spokesman Officer Chuck McPhilamy tells the AJC.

He was transported to a federal detention facility in Atlanta. Menefee is being charged with violation of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act with intent to distribute MDMA, possession of a stolen firearm, violation of the Criminal Street Gang Act and possession of marijuana.

According to McPhilamy, he is also being charged locally in connection with the gang activity. He faces charges of possession of a stolen firearm and possession of a firearm by a drug user in Cobb County. Leading up to the arrest, authorities, both federal and local, have been investigating for four years. Menefee makes the 10th person to be taken into custody in connection with the probe, McPhilamy said.
