MARIETTA, GA — A Marietta man who was a fugitive for six years now faces life in prison.

Jamar Henry Scott, 37, and two others were charged in a home invasion and armed robberies that occurred on Aug. 24, 2009, on Pine Street in Marietta.

About 9:30 that night, two men armed with handguns approached a vehicle parked at a residence. Two brothers were sitting in the vehicle, and the robbers forced them into the house where they and five other people were robbed of their wallets, cell phones, money, keys, a laptop computer and other items.

Cobb Police identified Scott and William Richard Stewart, 28, of Decatur, as the robbers, and a third person, April Dawn Gatuma, 42, previously of Smyrna, as their driver. All three were charged with seven counts of armed robbery. Both Stewart and Gatuma pleaded guilty to the charges in 2010 and were each sentenced to serve 10 years in prison.

Scott was a fugitive until September 2015, when Cobb deputies, working with U.S. marshals, got a tip that he was in the area and arrested him.
