Marietta Music Brings Some Smooth Sounds This Week

Whether you enjoy retro-rock or light tunes or open mics, it's all available this week near Marietta. So get out and support the local music scene.

With the metropolis of Atlanta to the south and numerous renowned musical venues peppered across the metro area, Marietta's music scene is often lost amid the din. But as any Marietta music lover knows, the local scene here remains vibrant and essential. Marietta Patch is here to help you navigate it.

1. Sailing into Marietta on Friday, Yacht Rock brings the Nation of Smooth into Marietta Square. These guys are some of Atlanta’s top musicians and will bring the party! All hands on deck, you swabbies. Put on your captain hat, get in the canoe and enjoy the ride. Yacht Rock performs as part of the popular Glover Park Summer concert series. Bring chairs, wine and cheese and come out and float into your happy place.

2. Brewsters Grill hosts some fun for the weekend. Friday has Bandwidth  rocking the place from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Saturday offerss the 1st Annual Classic Car and Bike Show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and then the evening has FUGM in house and in your face from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Every Sunday, of course, means karaoke with Spirit Entertainment.

3. Niks Place always has some of the best music in town, recently voted as one of Atlanta's Best Dive Bars in the Atlanta Creative Loaf. Friday has Marty Manous juking the joint with his beautiful and dark guitar sounds and getting the ladies dancing. Saturday is Nathan Morgan. Morgan is flying solo for this but is involved in a project that is known as The Relucant Saints. He has deep blues and country roots and is a powerful player.  Sunday, Kristin Tinsley brings her musical musings in house.

4.Marietta's Australian Bakery Cafe hosts a Bluegrass Open Jam every Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. This is great fun for all ages!

5.keeps the Square rocking all weekend. Friday and Saturday nights, Block Party brings the jams of the 1970s, 1980s and 1990's. Sunday has David Raynes on the patio from 2 to 6 p.m.
