Marietta PAL Open up Swim Lessons to Area Youth
Swim lessons, city council meetings and summer camp opportunities top The 5 Things today.

1. The Athletic League have opened registration for swim lessons for kids 6 to 18 years. The lessons will be held from noon to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday for the next two weeks at the Notting Hill Apartment Complex at 750 Franklin Road. Contact Marietta Police Major Kelker at 770-794-5340 to register.
2. For your civic duty enjoyment, the Marietta City Council meets at 5:15 p.m. today for an agenda work session at . Also, the Board of Lights and Water will meet for lunch from 11:30 a.m. to noon at the Training Room and then meet for its regular meeting from noon to 3 p.m. at Marietta City Hall.
3. More than a week into summer break and you still haven’t figured out summer camp opportunities for the kids? Cobb County Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs still have openings in day camps, art camps, art performance camps, golf and tennis camps. 4. Cobb County was recently honored with the Government Finance Officers Association's Distinguished Budget Presentation award. To receive the budget award, Cobb had to fulfill nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation. 5. Today is Drive-In Theater Day in honor of the first drive-in theater. On this day in 1933, motorists park their automobiles on the grounds of Park-In Theaters, the first-ever drive-in movie theater located on Crescent Boulevard in Camden, N.J.
