Marietta Police Officer Shot Overnight While Investigating Car Break-in

Officer Scott Davis is recovering from his injuries.

MARIETTA, GA — A Marietta police officer was shot early Sunday morning while responding to reports of a car break-in.

Police said three officers were responding to the Gallery Apartments on Franklin Gateway around 4:30 am when they found two suspects inside the reported stolen vehicle. Police said one of the suspects opened fire, and struck one of the officers.

All three police then returned fire, and one of the suspects was hit.

Both the suspect and Officer Scott Davis were taken to Kennestone Hospital with non life-threatening injuries. According to police Davis is recovering.

Both of the suspects were taken into custody.
