Marietta Police Seek Help in Burglary, Vandalism Cases

The Marietta Police Department has asked for assistance in two cases investigators are working on this morning: a burglary and a car damaged by an object possibly thrown from the I-75/South Marietta Parkway overpass.

For the burglary, the police need help identifying a suspect who burglarized a home on North St. Mary’s Lane in Marietta. According to police, officers responded at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday to a report of a white male who forced entry into the back of a house. The suspect fled in an older-model sedan, possibly a Buick.

For the other case, police seek information about a rock or brick thrown at a car traveling on Interstate 75 below South Marietta Parkway. Police say that at around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, a silver Volkswagen Jetta was traveling southbound in the far left lane on the interstate near the parkway when a brick or rock struck the windshield. Police believe the object was thrown over the fenced South Marietta Parkway overpass. The occupants in the Jetta were not injured.
