The Marietta City School System received a $75,000 grant to help students struggling during the coronavirus pandemic.
MARIETTA, GA — A $75,000 grant will help Marietta students who may struggle with staying current with virtual learning during the coronavirus pandemic. According to a Marietta City School System spokesperson, the district will use the funding to provide virtual one-on-one tutoring, mentoring and more. It’ll also offset the cost of distance learning.
Schools in Marietta have been closed since March 16 due to the pandemic.
School district spokeswoman Jen Brock tells the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that the grant will help “students not yet engaged or who are at greater risk” of falling behind during the system’s closure.
