Marietta Teen Badly Hurt Falling Out Of Car
Police say alcohol was involved in the accident that happened on Johnson Ferry Road in the overnight hours Thursday morning.

MARIETTA, GA — A teenager from Marietta was badly injured on Thursday after falling out of a vehicle, according to police.
Cobb County Police say the accident happened at about 1:53 a.m. on Johnson Ferry Road south of Sewell Mill Road. According to investigators, a silver, 2001 Hyundai Santa Fe was heading north on Johnson Ferry Road when a passenger — 18-year-old Alyssa Prindle, of Marietta — rolled down the left, back seat window.
She hung out of the window, "yelling and screaming," according to police, then fell out of the window and hit the pavement.

Prindle was taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital, where she was admitted to the intensive care unit.

The vehicle's driver, 17-year-old Abigail Cook, of Marietta, was arrested and taken to Cobb County Jail. She was charged with underage driving under the influence, reckless driving, serious injury by vehicle, underage possession of alcohol, possession of false identification and other driving offenses.
Police said underage consumption of alcohol was a contributing factor to the accident. It remains under investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact Cobb County Police Department's traffic unit at 770-499-3987.
