Marietta Waffle House to Reopen Thursday After SUV Crash

The SUV's driver went forward instead of backward, crashing through the restaurant's front window.

MARIETTA, GA -- The Waffle House on Sandy Plains Road in Marietta is expected to reopen on Thursday, after an SUV crashed through its front window on Wednesday.

No injuries were reported in the mishap, which happened the Honda Element's driver went forward instead of backward, according to the AJC.

Restaurant workers say they are making sure the Waffle House is structurally sound and safe before reopening.

The driver, a man in his 60s, and his wife had just finished lunch before leaving the restaurant.
