MUST Dance raises almost $70,000 for neighbors in poverty

In its first-year outing, MUST Dance raised almost $70,000 to benefit the 30,000 people in need MUST helps annually.

MUST Dance debuted with a roaring success this week at the YanMar Evo Center in Acworth. Almost $70,000 was raised to benefit the 30,000 people in need MUST helps annually, including 84 percent who are women and children. The 225 guests enjoyed a “Dancing with the Stars” type of performance, food, social dancing with the pros and an evening most described as “so much fun.”

On-stage stars included Emily McMillan, general manager of Nothing Bundt Cakes, Kennesaw, and her partner, Sean Battles of Atlanta, who won the Most Artistic Trophy. Piedmont Church’s children’s pastor, Aaron Collier of Acworth, won the Technical Trophy after performing a hip hop dance with his partner, Hannah Thompson of Atlanta. Martha Parker, client intake coordinator on MUST’s Elizabeth Inn campus, represented MUST with her partner, Josh Crenshaw of Acworth. MUST Board Member Eric Baker of Atlanta danced with Andrea Craft of Roswell. Valerie Jordan of Canton represented Heath and Lineback Engineers as she and partner Ryan Winslow of Acworth won the coveted Mirrorball Trophy.

The event was so successful that the beautiful YanMar facility has already been booked for next year’s event on July 20, 2019. Parties interested in sponsoring or participating should email abolton@mustministries.org
