MUST Ministries announces new board members and officers

Ten new board members are beginning their three-year tenures with MUST Ministries.

Ten new board members are beginning their three-year tenures with MUST Ministries. These community leaders will guide MUST in serving neighbors in need in eight counties. MUST provides food, housing, employment, services and clothing to 30,000 clients a year, 84 percent of whom are women and children.

Meet the New Board Members:

Eric Baker
Eric is a Realtor/Owner of Eric Baker & Associates with Keller Williams First Atlanta. He has volunteered with MUST and the Boys and Girls Clubs of America. Eric and his family witnessed the importance of organizations like MUST. “As a child, we relied on organizations like MUST and without them, we may not have survived. Now that I have been blessed, I want to help others in the same way I was helped,” he says.

Nancy Blythe
Nancy is the Chief Talent Officer at Walton Communities. She is coming back to the Board after a two-year sabbatical. Nancy was previously a Board Chairman and Committee Chairman for Development, Programs and Personnel. She served on the board of directors for nine years. Nancy has a Bachelor of Science, Marketing and Management from Elon University in North Carolina.

Chris Coan
Chris is the Vice President and General Manager of Business and Governmental Markets at Gas South, LLC. He received his MBA from Emory University’s Goizueta School of Business. Chris is also on the board for the Georgia Hotel and Lodging Association and the Council for Quality Growth. Chris attends First Baptist Church of Marietta, where he is a deacon and a Sunday School teacher.

Terry DeWitt
Terry is the President and CEO of Landmark Bancshares and the EVP and CFO of First Landmark Bank. He has a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Alabama and is also a CPA. Terry has served on many civic, community and business boards, including Chairman of the Cobb Chamber of Commerce and Cobb Community Collaborative.

Tom DiGregorio
Tom is the president and owner of AquaGuard. He is on the Board of Directors at KSU Entrepreneurship Center and is a founding donor. Tom received his BSBA at Boston University. He and his company are active sponsors of MUST events and volunteers often to serve MUST clients.

Dave Hoeller
Dave is the Strategic Marketing Leader at UPS. He is the co-founder and a board member of GOKickball as well as an advisory board member of Boys & Girls Club of Metro Atlanta in Cobb County. Dave received his MBA from Emory University’s Goizueta School of Business. He is a parishioner of the Catholic Church of St. Ann.

Joyette Holmes
Judge Holmes is the Chief Magistrate Judge for Cobb County. She has served on many boards including Cobb County Board of Elections, Boys and Girls Club of Metro Atlanta and Cobb, the Music Foundation of America and Cobb Community Foundation. Judge Holmes received bachelor’s degrees in psychology and criminal justice at the University of Georgia then earned her Juris Doctor from University of Baltimore School of Law.

Alan Lee
Alan returns to the MUST Board of Directors after a two-year sabbatical. He served as 2013 Chairman of the Board of MUST. Alan is the Vice President and General Manager for Zep Automotive and was formerly SVP and Chief Talent Officer at a mortgage company. Alan has a Bachelor of Science in Management from Georgia Tech. Alan has a wealth of certifications including PETRA Leadership Solutions, Generative Leadership Institute, Aon Consulting, DDI Targeted Selection and Lead, and Six Sigma.

Ray Rodriguez
Ray is the Division Vice President and HR/Risk Management at C.W. Matthews Contracting Company. He is a member of Marietta First United Methodist Church and served on the Finance Committee. Ray also served on the Boys and Girls Club of Metro Atlanta Cobb County Board, the Georgia State Pardons and Paroles Corporate Advisory Board as well as the Cobb Chamber Public Safety Committee. Ray is bilingual and has a MBA with an emphasis on coaching and mentoring. Ray was in the Leadership Cobb Class of 2011. He has a Masters of Business Administration from KSU and a Spanish degree from Georgia Southern.

Chuck Vice
Chuck is the CFO of Intercontinental Exchange. He is a member of Johnson Ferry Baptist where he served on the Finance Committee, Right from the Heart Board and is currently serving on the Church Personnel Committee. Chuck also served on the Capital Campaign and Excellence Fund Drives for Mt. Bethel Christian Academy. He received his MBA at Vanderbilt University and a Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Alabama.

Meet the Board Officers:

Drew Shambarger- Chairman
Drew is the Market President of Northwest Atlanta at BB&T. He has served on the MUST board for four years and has also been a part of the Cobb County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors since 2015. He majored in both Finance and Operations Quality Management at University of Maryland, College Park. Drew is also an alumnus of University of Pennsylvania’s Stonier Graduate School of Banking.

Ann Harris- Vice Chair
A Birmingham native, Judge Harris was elected as Superior Court Judge at Cobb Judicial Circuit in 2014. She has served on the MUST Board of Directors for two years. She earned her Juris Doctor from Vanderbilt University and her finance degree came from Auburn University.

Jim Budzinski- Treasurer
Jim is the EVP/CFO at Wellstar Health Systems. Prior to joining WellStar, he served as Chief Financial Officer of St. John's Health Systems. Earlier, he served as the Chief Financial Officer of another leading integrated health system in Lansing, MI. He has been on the MUST Board of Directors for seven years. Jim is a certified public accountant with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Ferris State University in Michigan.

Nancy Blythe- Secretary
Nancy is a new Board Member.

MUST Ministries helps restore people’s hope by meeting their basic needs. It is a faith-based, volunteer-driven organization that provides food, housing, employment training and placement services, and clothing to our clients who live in poverty. Last year, MUST partnered with communities and volunteers to serve people- more than half of whom were children- in Cobb, Cherokee and six surrounding counties.
