NAACP's Juneteenth Celebration Highlight of Marietta Music This Week
Cobb NAACP offers smooth jazz, R&B and spoken word for a "Night Under the Stars" at Glover Park on Friday.
With the metropolis of Atlanta to the south and numerous renowned musical venues peppered across the metro area, Marietta's music scene is often lost amid the din. 1. To kick off a weekend of Juneteenth celebrations, the Cobb NAACP brings smooth jazz, rhythm and blues and spoken word to Glover Park from 7 to 11 p.m. on Friday. Bring your lawn chairs, picnic baskets, blankets and enjoy this fun-filled evening.
Juneteenth is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States."Night Under the Stars" marks the Cobb chapter's eighth year to mark the event.

2. has open mics on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, which means it's a great time to bring your axe or harmonica and shine. On Friday and Saturday, Joe Garner, the "Artist Formally Known as Rufus Ray," has the stage.
