New Candy Shop, River Street Sweets Opening In Cobb County Friday
River Street Sweets, a popular candy store is celebrating a grand opening Friday at The Battery Atlanta. Win candy for a year!
COBB COUNTY, GA — A popular candy store has opened in Cobb County. River Street Sweets and Savannah’s Candy Kitchen opened Friday at The Battery Atlanta. A grand opening ceremony and ribbon cutting will be held at 3 p.m. at 455 Legends Place in Atlanta.
Hosted by new owners, Doug Hicks and Jamie Wright, the ribbon cutting will welcome the company’s owners, the Strickland family, to celebrate. Attendees will enjoy free samples of some of the shop’s famous handmade candies and enter to win “Free Candy for a Year!” They close at 10 p.m. which is the cut off time for the candy guessing contest.
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the new Cobb location will have the same treats as the Savannah location, which opened in 1983. They’re known for their Pralines, homemade ice cream and gelato, and handmade chocolate loggerheads.
