New Cobb Conference Center Opening Soon

The center, paid for with SPLOST money, will be open in time to host the North Georgia State Fair in September, officials say.

MARIETTA, GA — A new conference center that has been under construction in Cobb County is set to open soon.

A ribbon-cutting for the event center at Jim R. Miller Park in Marietta has been set for 11 a.m. on Sept. 7. The center is located at 2245 Callaway Rd.

At 41,000 square feet, the new center will become the largest structure bankrolled by Cobb County's 2016 special-purpose local option sales tax. That will include 25,000 square feet of rentable exhibit and even space, according to the county.

The first big event scheduled for the new center is the North Georgia State Fair, which is set for Sept. 20-30. County officials say event space can be combined with outdoor space for large events such as the fair.

Officials are currently booking reservations for 2019. For more information, call the facility manager, Cara Lynn, at 770-528-8875.
