New Principals Named At 2 Marietta Schools
Both principals are hosting receptions and will take over at the Marietta schools on July 1.

MARIETTA, GA — The City Schools of Marietta school board has named new principals at two elementary schools.
Diona McIntire, an assistant principal in Fulton County, will take over as head of Park Street Elementary and Christina Wagoner, currently principal at Marietta Center of Advanced Academics, will take the helm at West Side Elementary.
Both begin their new roles on July 1. The board voted to approve them for the jobs on Wednesday.

McIntire comes to Park Street with more than 10 years of public-education experience. She currently serves as assistant principal at New Prospect Elementary in Fulton. A school system letter to staff described McIntire as a passionate, bilingual leader focused on building relationships with parents, staff, students and community members.

"I am especially passionate about the infusion and use of technology to educate and advance students in this age of technological expansion," McIntire said in the letter. "My goal is to serve our students, staff and community to help make a positive impact and difference in our students’ lives."
McIntire holds a bachelor's of arts degree in Spanish Education from the University of Delaware, a masters in educational leadership from Argosy University and an education specialist degree from Kennesaw State University.

Wagoner comes to West Side from the Center of Advanced Academics holding a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Auburn University, a masters of Education from Georgia State University, an education specialist degree from Berry College and a doctorate in Educational Leadership from Georgia State.
The letter says Wagoner is know for her ability to bring out the best in students using innovative learning techniques.
"As principal, I will be committed to developing relationships that foster a culture that supports, inspires, and motivates every student to reach his/her fullest potential," said Wagoner in the letter.

Both new principals will be hosting community receptions at their new schools. McIntire's reception will be May 22 at 6:30 p.m. in the school's media center and Wagoner's will be May 16 at 6:30 p.m. in the West Side Auditorium.
Community members are welcome to meet new school leaders and hear plans for the schools.
