New Safety Training System Will Be Brought To Cobb Community
The Cobb County Safety Village Foundation's new safety training systems will be brought to community events thanks to a grant.
COBB COUNTY, GA — More than $24,000 in grant funding was awarded to the Cobb County Safety Village Foundation. The Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation provided the $24,142 grant, which will help the recipient purchase two fire extinguisher stimulators with accessories.
The new training systems means the foundation can train the community on safe and proper use of the extinguishers with hands-on instruction and demonstrations.
"This equipment helps our first responders by providing life saving equipment that they sometimes cannot afford," said Firehouse Subs Area Representative Shawn Hooks in a news release. "It's very rewarding to give back to the people who serve our community. We are proud to be able to donate.”
Now safety training can also be brought to senior service centers in Cobb, as well as events like Family Fun Safety Days and Truck-a-Palooza.

Safety Village Director Allison Carter said the Firehouse Subs grant helps them provide prevention education to keep the Cobb community safer.
“The Safety Village wants to improve, continue and grow the fire and life safety education to our students and the community at large,” said Carter in the news release. “This will be achieved by including hands-on fire extinguisher training for all our informative classes."
