Pedestrian Dies After Being Hit By Car In Marietta: Police

MARIETTA, GA — A pedestrian who was hit and killed by a car late Tuesday night near South Marietta Parkway has been identified by police as Benancio Lasarte, 58, of Marietta.

Authorities said Lasarte was crossing the street around 11:30 p.m., when he was hit by a 2007 Nissan Murano.

He was taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital, where he died, police said.

No charges have been filed in the case, police said.
