Pedestrian Injured In Marietta Crash

A 38-year-old man is suffering life-threatening injuries after being hit by a SUV while walking in Marietta, police say.

MARIETTA, GA — A 38-year-old man is suffering life-threatening injuries after being hit by a SUV early Friday morning in the area of North Fairground Street and Washington Avenue, Marietta Police said.

The crash happened around 6:30 a.m. The man was walking in the northbound lanes of North Fairground, in the same direction of a 2009 Ford Escape driven by a 49-year-old man, when he was hit by the SUV, police said.

The man who was injured was taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital, police said. His condition was not immediately known.

The driver remained on scene and is cooperating, police said. Both men are from Marietta, police said.

Charges had not been filed as of Friday morning.
