Pedestrian Killed In Marietta Crash
The pedestrian was known to stay in or near Marietta, police say.
MARIETTA, GA — A 36-year-old pedestrian died Friday morning after being hit by a 2008 Ford Taurus X at Cobb Parkway and Polytechnic Lane, Marietta Police said.
The crash happened around 2:15 a.m., when police say an 81-year-old Lawrenceville man driving the Ford Taurus hit the pedestrian and then fled the scene.
The pedestrian was a transient known to stay in or near Marietta, police said. His name was not released.

The Ford Taurus was later stopped by the Emerson Police Department at Highway 41 in Bartow County, police said. The driver seemed to be uninjured but exhibited signs of confusion, police said. He was taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital for a medical evaluation, police said.
No charges have been filed in the case, police said.
