Shots Fired At Cobb Officer, 2 Suspects Sought

Police were investigating suspicious activity at about 1:20 a.m. when one of the men leaned out of a vehicle and fired multiple shots.

MARIETTA, GA — Police in Cobb County are searching for two men after they say shots were fired at an officer early Tuesday morning.

At about 1:20 a.m., officers were investigating what they called suspicious activity involving a vehicle at the Exxon gas station at 6211 block of Mableton Parkway in south Cobb County, according to police Sgt. The shots missed the officer, who did not return fire. The driver sped away, Pierce said. A chase followed, but officers lost track of the vehicle, which was later found abandoned on Venetian Way.
