Six Flags Announces New, 15-Story Ride
Pandemonium will be the centerpiece of a new Six Flags Over Georgia area called ScreamPunk, giving the park a steampunk flair.
AUSTELL, GA — Visitors to Six Flags Over Georgia will soon get a new chance to test just how high they're willing to go for a thrill.
Pandemonium, a huge, 15-story tall swinging pendulum ride, will debut in 2019, the amusement park announced on Thursday. The ride, which will reach speeds of 70 m.p.h. as it whips back and forth, will be the tallest ride of its kind in the Southeast, according to Six Flags.
"Six Flags is recognized throughout the world for delivering the industry’s most thrilling and innovative rides year after year," said park President Dale Kaetzel. "Pandemonium is the perfect mix of mayhem and adrenaline and the latest addition to Six Flags Over Georgia’s continued investment in new attractions."

Park officials say Pandemonium will handle 40 riders at a time. They'll get views of Atlanta's skyline while also getting one heck of an adrenaline rush. The ride's platform will rotate counterclockwise as it swings back and forth — taking riders a full 147 feet in the air.

Pandemonium will be the centerpiece of Six Flags Over Georgia's new ScreamPunk area. The area is a twist on the popular steampunk genre, combining science fiction and fantasy with 19th-Century-style steam-powered machinery.
ScreamPunk will feature revamped food locations and shopping opportunities. The area is scheduled to open in March and Pandemonium is expected to debut in late spring.
