Teens Seriously Hurt In Rainy-Sunday Crash
A 50-year-old woman also was hospitalized in the Cobb County crash, in which police say speed and heavy rain were factors.

MABLETON, GA — Two teens were seriously injured and a 50-year-old woman also was hospitalized Sunday in a Cobb County crash in rainy conditions.
The crash happened at about 8:17 p.m. on White Road south of Factory Shoals Road, according to police. Investigators say Jonathan R. Redd, 18, of Cedartown, was driving a 2000 Ford Ranger south when he lost control of the truck.
It crossed the center line and hit a 2012 Audi A5 driven by Simone Myles, 50, of Mableton, police say. The crash caused the Ford to flip over and for Redd to be thrown out of it. He and his passenger, Kaitlyn Arnold, 17, of Douglasville, were taken to Atlanta Medical Center with what police called serious injuries.

The crash, which happened in what police say was heavy rain, remains under investigation, but they say "excessive speed" is believed to have been a contributing factor. Charges are expected to be filed, police say.
