Two Cobb Men Charged With Fraud Against Georgia Tech
The men are accused of spending $250,000 of university money on personal items, including repairs to a private hunting lodge.

Three former Georgia Tech employees are accused of spending $250,000 of school money on personal items.
Prosecutors say James Maloney of Marietta, along with James Fraley of Acworth, conspired to commit mail and wire fraud.
James Acree of Atlanta has also been charged in the scheme, according to WRCB-TV.

All three worked in Georgia Tech's advanced concepts laboratory where clients included various intelligence agencies as well as the U.S. Department of Defense.
Fraley was given a Georgia Tech procurement card, which he and the other two men allegedly used to purchase ATVs, cameras, televisions and repairs to six rental properties -- including a hunting lodge -- that the men owned.

The men also allegedly took on $600,000 of outside consulting work while employed at Tech.
Georgia Tech’s Internal Auditing Department began the investigation into the scheme, which was later turned over to the FBI.
A federal grand jury indicted Maloney, while Fraley and Acree have indicated they intend to plead guilty to participating in the conspiracy.
