Very Special Marietta Boy Asking For Birthday Cards

Chase Howard suffers from a rare form of muscular dystrophy.

MARIETTA, GA — A 9-year-old Marietta boy who is suffering from a rare form of muscular dystrophy has a simple wish for his first, double-digit birthday.

Cards. Just birthday cards.

Chase Howard's birthday is Sept. 19, reports Fox 5. He suffers from duchenne muscular dystrophy, which affects less than 200,000 in the United States each year. There is no cure for the disease.

"It would make me feel special if people sent me cards," Chase said, who added that when he gets to heaven, his reward will be new legs.
