Winter Wonderland Opens On Marietta Square

Celebrate the holiday season with ice skating, a Christmas tree lighting and a visit with Santa.

MARIETTA, GA — Winter Wonderland begins Friday in Marietta Square with the start of ice skating in Glover Park. The open-air rink is scheduled to run through Jan. 7, 2018, though last year the season was extended.

The festivities will continue with Santa’s arrival at the Christmas Tree Lighting at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, at Glover Park. After making his first appearance at the tree lighting, Santa will be in Marietta Square for photos with kids of all ages.

New Year’s Eve at Marietta Square begins at 6 p.m. on Dec. 31. Family activities will begin at 6 p.m. with a drop at 7 p.m. for the kids. At 8 p.m., a celebration begins to welcome the New Year at midnight.

Valet parking is available on Friday and Saturday evenings from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m, during Winter Wonderland. The cost is $5 and pick-up and drop-off takes place on Root Street.
