Atlanta Police Search For Midtown Shooting Suspect

Atlanta police are on the hunt for a man witnesses say shot a woman in Midtown on Tuesday morning.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the victim was inside a black Chevrolet Cobalt on Parkway Drive near North Avenue at approximately 7 a.m. when the suspect approached the vehicle. Minutes later, witnesses said they heard a gunshot and saw the suspect running away.
An off-duty hotel security guard heard the gunshot and chased after the suspect, while the guard’s girlfriend called 911, the AJC said. The suspect escaped from the guard, but police have a description of him: he is reported to be a tall black man wearing a black skull cap and red and green hoodie.

Investigators found a small hole in the Cobalt’s driver’s seat and found a glass pipe wrapped in a napkin under the vehicle, according to the AJC.
The woman was transported to Atlanta Medical Center and was reported to be in stable condition, with a gunshot wound to the back the AJC said.
