A Georgia state trooper is resting at Grady Memorial Hospital after crashing his motorcycle near the Downtown Connector on Monday afternoon.

Trooper First Class Kendall McCoy was traveling with the rest of the motorcycle unit southbound on I-75 at approximately 1:34 p.m. Monday when he lost control of his motorcycle after accelerating to allow the rest of the unit to merge onto the Downtown Connector just below the 17th Street Bridge, a Georgia State Patrol spokesperson said.
McCoy’s motorcycle overturned and struck the median wall. No other troopers or other motorists were involved or injured in the accident, the GSP said.
