According to WSB-TV, Clark Jacobs fell out of his loft bed onto a linoleum floor Jan. 10, and shortly afterwards developed problems. He was taken to the hospital, where doctors discovered he had a fractured skull and a bleed in his brain. Surgeons rushed to save his life.

Jacobs is still alive, but he is receiving round-the-clock treatment at the Shepherd Center. WSB-TV says that the family is hoping for a speedy recovery for the 20-year-old mechanical engineering student. The fraternity has since installed railings on the loft beds to keep brothers from falling out of them.
