• Baldwin County school board approves $865,000 land sale to GCSU (41nbc.com) — Baldwin County’s school board has approved selling over 15 acres of former Georgia State Patrol property on Highway 49 in Milledgeville to Georgia College & State University for $865,000. The deal supports GCSU’s West Campus growth, while the district plans to sell the remaining land commercially so it can return to the county tax digest.
   

• Middle Georgia man pleads guilty in Atlanta to Milledgeville Meth Trafficking case (41nbc.com) — Federal prosecutors say a Milledgeville man has pleaded guilty in a major meth trafficking case tied to Baldwin County, facing at least 10 years in prison. Several other Milledgeville and Middle Georgia defendants have already been sentenced or await sentencing after agents seized drugs and guns, including from a Milledgeville home, as part of a long-running investigation.
   

• GBI assisting in Hancock County fatal shooting case (unionrecorder.com) — Investigators from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s Milledgeville-based Region 6 office are helping Hancock County authorities look into a deadly shooting near Sparta. A local man was found shot near his parked truck in woods off Ga. Route 15, and an autopsy is underway as officials work to determine exactly what happened.
