ā¢ GCSU touts highest regional ranking in anniversary year (unionrecorder.com) ā Georgia College & State University in Milledgeville is celebrating record enrollment and its highest-ever U.S. News regional ranking while grappling with maxed-out on-campus housing. President Cathy Cox told the Milledgeville Rotary Club the university is seeking approval for a new residence hall and investing in major facility upgrades, from Herty Hall renovations to improved public safety space and baseball facilities.

ā¢ Augusta Jaguars Selected as 2026-27 PBC Women's Basketball Preseason Favorites (peachbeltconference.org) ā Milledgeville will host the Peach Belt Conference Basketball Tip-Off on Sept. 23 at GCSUās Centennial Center, bringing players and coaches from all 11 womenās teams to town for live-streamed interviews. Augusta enters the 2026-27 season as the coachesā preseason favorite, with GCSU ranked sixth and several standout players highlighted on the preseason all-conference team. Ā Ā Ā
