Folks, I understand why you're either upset or ecstatic: your candidate either won or lost. This past few months have been hard. You've fought a good fight, you've put in the hours, the blood, sweat and the tears, but you know what? It honestly doesn't matter.
If you're a Obama supporter: congratulations. Your candidate won. If you're a Romney supporter: it's ok, the sun came up and life will go on. I want to remind us all of some important things on this post-election day:
1) No matter who you voted for, no matter how big of a win/loss it was you didn't put our President in office: God did. God is in control of all things and His plan is far greater for us than any plan that any President can present. What I honestly pray and hope for is that our Re-Elected President will be sensitive to the Holy Spirit for guidance instead of the failings of Congress and The House of Reps.

Jeremiah 29:11 tells us this: "For I know the plans I have for you; plans to prosper and not to harm you."
God knows exactly what He is doing and the last time I checked I realized that I'm really not that dependable in the grand scheme of things.

2) Despite what you think is right for this country you don't have the final say so and neither does your neighbor or facebook friend. So save yourself the pain and de-friending and just take the high road when it comes to political banter. Expressing anger does nothing, but create more anger so grow up and remain silently focused on God, which is what we should do in the first place.
3) God's instructions for your life haven't changed one bit since yesterday, so let me refresh your minds: Pray without ceasing (including Barack Obama and his administration). Share the love and joy of Jesus Christ that lives may be changed. Go into all nations and make followers of Christ. Be the man and women that God has called us to be.
Take all of these things into consideration and you start to realize that it doesn't matter who the President is, it matters who is on the throne. Policies will be presented and passed, changes in offices across the nation are inevitable, but Christ is immovable and therefore we are to be as He is: immovable; steadfast and true to God's purposes. That is what we are called to do.
I want to leave you with something that God has put on my heart o share with you all. It's not a declaration or anything worthy of praise, but a calming fact that will hopefully sooth and mend the hearts of many.
"Nations will rise and nations will fall, but God is unchanging. God has the power to place kings on the throne and he has the power to remove them as well." I heard these words Sunday from my Pastor. Truth is truth and you can't argue that. God has placed Barack Obama there and we may never know the reasons behind it, but I do know that God's plan is always perfect. He makes no mistakes and is very intentional in everything that He does. With that being said, Pray. Pray for our current administration that they'd be sensitive to the Holy Spirit and carry out their term with dignity and respect in the best interests of all people. Political parties don't matter any more. He said she said needs to be dissolved and honest truth should replace it and even though you're reading this thinking that I'm a fool for even mentioning that shame on you. I serve a God that can do all things, even the ones that seem so far fetched. I beg you all to humble yourselves and seek Him so that your minds will be renewed and know that He is in control. If you are telling yourself that you just can't do it may I remind you of Phillipians4:13: I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. May this be A Post-Election Reminder to us all..."
